North Bucharest — the Floreasca, Barbu Văcărescu, Pipera and Herăstrău area — holds most of the capital’s class A office stock. If your meeting, interview or project is in one of these buildings, staying in the same neighbourhood saves you 30–45 minutes of morning traffic compared with a hotel in the city centre.

Distances are measured from the hotel at Șerbănescu 18-20 and assume normal traffic. During the 8:00–9:30 rush, add a few minutes on the Barbu Văcărescu and Pipera routes.

Why candidates book near the building where the interview happens

Final interview rounds in Bucharest’s tech sector are rarely one meeting. A typical on-site day at Microsoft, Amazon or one of the Big 4 runs 3–5 sessions, often with senior stakeholders whose calendars don’t move. Arriving late because you misjudged Bucharest traffic is a bad way to start.

Early check-in the day before. Subject to availability, and worth requesting when you book. For a morning interview, arriving the previous evening is the safer plan anyway.

Early breakfast. The buffet opens early enough for an 8:00 meeting at Sky Tower or a 9:00 start in Pipera. If your schedule is unusual — a 6:00 airport departure, say — tell reception the night before; as an independent hotel, they can adjust without asking a chain’s head office for permission.

Business-grade WiFi. Stable enough for video calls with a head office in another timezone. Consultants on multi-week stays use the rooms as evening workstations.

• Calea Floreasca runs past One Floreasca City toward the city centre.

The Aurel Vlaicu metro station (M2 line) is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. One stop north is Pipera station, which serves the Dimitrie Pompeiu office cluster — useful when it rains and traffic doubles.

North Bucharest is where the offices actually are

A short orientation for anyone booking from abroad: Bucharest’s business geography has shifted north over the past fifteen years. The Floreasca–Barbu Văcărescu–Pipera corridor now concentrates the majority of the city’s premium office space, and the tenant list reads like a tech and finance directory: Microsoft and Vodafone at Globalworth, Amazon and ING at Bucharest One, Raiffeisen at Sky Tower, Nestlé at Green Court.

For a visitor, the practical consequences are:

• More than 30 class A office buildings sit within 4 km of the hotel.
• Otopeni Airport is about 10 km north — 15–20 minutes by car, against 40+ from the centre.
• The area has its own restaurant scene around Promenada Mall (a 650 m walk from the hotel), so business dinners don’t require a trip downtown.
• Hotel supply in the north is competitive, which keeps rates reasonable compared with equivalent 4-star properties in the centre.

If your entire trip is meetings in the north plus a flight home, there is no strong reason to stay anywhere else.

Group stays for corporate events at the IT buildings
